Our Veterinary Team

I graduated with my DVM from the University of Georgia. For several years, I followed my Army husband and worked at various animal hospitals on the East Coast. In 2005, we settled in Northern Virginia, where I worked at a 24-hour veterinary hospital (and raised our children) until recently moving to Homosassa to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle. When not spending time with my amazing children and pets (two boxers and two cats), my husband and I love biking, horseback riding, swimming with the manatees, and most outdoor activities. 

I graduated with honors from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Canada, in 1991. I began practicing in companion animal medicine in the Pacific Northwest and decided to stay after marrying a classmate. We raised a family, ran a farm, and co-owned a practice in that area. In 2020, after completing my Master’s degree in Epidemiology/Public Health at the University of British Columbia, I had the opportunity to go to Geneva to work with WHO during the Emergency response to Covid-19.

In 2022, my husband and I made the decision to relocate to Crystal River, Florida. We resumed practicing veterinary medicine and surgery in this new location. I look forward to continuing to serve the community here in Crystal River.

My name is Izzy and I have been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, and returned to Florida to live in Citrus County in 2013. I’ve been working in the animal field for the past five and a half years and joined Crystal River Animal Hospital in October 2020. I then moved into the Practice Management position in November 2021. I have a passion for helping animals and am always eager to learn new skills. I’m a wife of 21 years, a mother to four amazing children, and have four dogs and two cats of my own. In my free time, I mostly enjoy doing anything that involves making memories with my family.

I was born in Houston, Texas. I have been married for 41 years. I have one son who lives in Chicago. I joined the US Army to work with military working dogs, which took me to Virginia Beach, Virginia. My husband and I  stayed there for 25 years. After exiting the Army, I returned to school to become a Certified Vet Tech and graduated in 2003. My career in Veterinary Medicine started in 1992 and has continued to the present. My husband and I moved to Florida in 2018. We have three dogs named Cody, Bella, and Dixie. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and traveling. My most exciting trips were to Israel and Ireland.

Hi! My name is Kaitlyn. I’m 25 years old and originally from Colorado. I moved to Citrus County, Florida almost four years ago with my husband and we’ve absolutely loved it here ever since. I’ve always had a love for animals, which is what led me into working in the animal care field. My first job in the industry was at Petco, and I loved it so much that I moved onto animal hospitals, doing everything from reception work to kennel care. It’s been such a rewarding experience being able to care for animals and be a part of helping them feel their best. At home, I have two sweet pups, Midge (the little baby) and Arabelle (the big baby). When I’m not working , I enjoy relaxing at home, playing video games, reading, or spending time with friends and family.

Hello, my name is Niccole. I have been a Veterinary Technician since 2021 but I have been working in the animal field for many years. Crystal River Animal Hospital has taught me so much, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with such a great team. In my free time, I like to spend the day playing outside with my four children or going trail riding on our side-by-side. For pets, I currently have four dogs, four cats, two birds, two turtles, and two fish. I have a pretty busy house but like I always say, “if it ain’t crazy it ain’t fun”.
